Photoelastic Touch: future of interactive space?
This is very interesting research into creating more three dimensional gesture sensitivity into a touch reactive display. Could be a really interesting avenue for creating a much more sensually immersive and responsive experience.

The first post is always tough
I've looked around, and found that only a few people use this. But what would it say about the company if the only writer in the office didn't blog?
And as per Kirsten playing a Phoenix remix, and us finding that we are into the same music, here's my idea for the often weird, forced, and unpleasant first blog post.
About six years ago, I began a little case study on myself. Using Last.fm, I've kept track of almost every song I've ever listened to. I did it because I figured some day, it would be fun to look back and see the results.
And today is that day.
I've never showed this to anyone, mostly because it's embarrassing (I'm relatively young, and six years ago I was really young). But I feel like you can tell a lot about someone by the music they listen to. Worst case scenario is, everyone will know me a little better.
So without further adieu, here's what I've been listening to this week, and here's just about everything I've listened to in the past six years.
Let me know if you recognize anything, if you hate Sufjan Stevens, if a band I like is playing nearby--just please, be nice.

Thinking for a Living
Nice design blog - industrial, print, game, interactive. A very nicely designed interface that feels like flash but appears to be just well crafted HTML.

Go Outside
I shot a bunch pictures in high-speed continuous burst mode, and a friend suggested I make them into an image sequence. So I did, and mixed it with some footage. Here's how it turned out.
Portrait outtake
This was another attempt at a DK portrait - it attempts to recreate Sonic Boom Day, when the space shuttle landed nearby and we all went outside to hear the sky exploding.
